Leaning fence repair

Image
Termites, Rot, Wind, Soil erosion, Tree roots... All factors that can contribute to a fence leaning and eventually falling over. With timber post and rail fences the lean can be due to the posts rotting below ground level but the wind can certainly snap off a brand new timber post fence too! Assured Handyman is here to help with digging equipment and 3mm thick galvanized steel posts to concrete into the ground alongside the fence to straighten and strengthen the posts and rails. sticking door repair

Image
Door that stick can have many different symptoms and causes and therefore need different remedies too. Sometimes it is a case of one or more of the hinges becoming loose, it could be the screws, the pin or both. More often than not the door in question is fine until humidity causes it to stick, I don't know how many times I have heard "it only sticks when it rains?". Other causes of the door not closing properly or at all can be structural and in these cases I find that the more room I give for the door to close the more the frame shifts so these symptoms, (usually accompanied by large cracks at the top of the architraves) should be a concern and further investigation of the drainage of the site and foundation should be carried out. When hanging a new door it is important to allow 5mm clearance all the way around the door for expansion during humid weather and a couple of layers of paint. pool gate not latching?

Image
If you have a pool then chances are you have at least one magnetic style latch for your gates and over time these can become loose or simply need to be re-aligned. Sometimes it may be that the hinges have come loose and/or worn out or the post might have moved due to the weight and constant use of the gate or perhaps the soil has a lot of clay and this is causing movement. Whatever the cause Assured Handyman can help in most cases. I say most cases   because certain frameless glass pool fences are designed poorly and do not provide enough lateral strength to support the break in the fence where the gate goes.
