ROOF TURBINES
Roof turbines or whirlybirds are great for enhancing the natural convection that happens in a roof space where there is a vented area under the eaves or facia boards and somewhere at the top of the roof for the cooler air to escape.
Having this cooler air pass through the roof space or attic dramatically reduces hot air from being trapped inside the roof and also helps to provide much needed ventilation in winter or on those days we have so often here in Sydney when the humidity is very high.
Having stack ventilation or buoyancy ventilation operating up above the ceiling helps to reduce mould forming on the underside of the ceiling and on walls, especially in places like bathrooms where there is a lot of steam from showering or in laundries where there may be an unvented clothes dryer operating.
If you would like to add a whirlybird or two to your home then give Assured Handyman a call and, once installed you can start having a cooler home in summer and a dryer home in winter.
