Rising Damp


When the paint starts flaking and bubbling on the lower section of wall, your skirting boards expand and salt starts seeping through the plaster, it is time to call  The Assured Handyman to fix your rising damp problem!




Sydney is a damp place and mould, rising damp and other problems associated with moisture in the air or a high volume of rain in a short period are common problems.

Water wicks up from the ground and through deteriorated or non existent damp courses to saturate the bricks causing mould and damage to the plaster and paint on the wall.


We can treat the cause in an almost non-evasive way by drilling a series of holes in the bottom of the walls and injecting a special liquid or in some cases we can apply a chemical which soaks in and hunts the water hardening on contact with moisture to form a new damp course.
Call Assured Handyman before your walls look like this and we can get started on the treatment straight away. We use thermal imaging cameras to investigate the extent of the moisture damage and treat the cause accordingly.

Once the rising damp is fixed we can also re plaster and paint the walls, replace the skirting and perform any other repairs caused by the moisture.
